FAQs

  • In Western society, we tend to know ‘yoga’ purely for the ‘asana’ (movement & postures). But ‘yoga’ actually means ‘union’. Union of body, mind, and spirit. Yoga nidra is an ancient form of yoga that involves no movement. You lay down, remain still, and listen to the guidance. It has a powerful ability to bring us into a state of peace, where the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional parts of ourselves harmonise.

  • Yoga nidra in the least brings the physical and mental bodies into deep rest. The brain wave dance on the alpha-theta boundary, so you can feel like you’re sleeping or dreaming, whilst your awareness remains online. Yoga nidra has many potential benefits including:

    • Recovery from burnout

    • Better sleep

    • Overcoming limiting beliefs and imposter syndrome

    • Enhanced dream recall

    • Regulated heart rate

    • More energy

    • Feeling more grounded

  • A quiet space where you can lay down on your back and not be disturbed.

A device to listen to the practice on.

You may also like to have:

    • Special essential oils

    • A blanket

    • A bolster or pillow for under your knees

    • An eye mask

  • ‘Sankalpa’ means ‘truth vow’ in Sanskrit. It is a potent, present-tense, positive statement of intent phrased as, “I am…” It can be an antidote to the greatest limiting belief that is holding you back.

We sow the seed of our Sankalpa during the practice at a moment when the subconscious mind begins to open. Then the frequency of the Sankalpa is wired into your nervous system so your body and mind perceive this desired state as your present reality.

You can use the same Sankalpa again and again until it becomes reflected back in your eyes-open reality.
